Winter Nights

Winter Nights

I love long winter nights,
Though I spend most of them alone.
I can take my time to reminisce,
When I choose to stay at home.

Warm fire blazing high,
Soft music playing for my enjoyment.
An amazing dinner cooked by me,
Treating myself like royalty.

No interruptions from outsiders,
Makes the winter even more alluring.
Digging out old cookie recipes,
While sipping hot tea with honey.

Reading one of my favorite books,
Only when the night has come to an end.
Getting on my knees giving thanks,
And at the end saying "Amen".

A near-perfect description of spending time inside on a wintry night. I know one person in my family who would love reading the last two lines of your poem. Those two lines are a perfect ending for a warm poem.

I can't say 100 percent perfect because even I ain't perfect in writing. lol

Your poet heart speaks well. I really liked your poem and the way it flowed with words chosen for just the right moment as your poem began to speak of that heart. Keep up the good works….I’ll be reading more…
