A Broken Girl

by mellmer   Feb 8, 2008

Tears streaming down her face,
She lost the dreams she couldn't chase.
No importance in this world,
Memories, all they have for her.

They wonder why she's always sad,
But they can bleed before they pass.
The souls in life, we do not need.
Quiet beings, we shall be.

Overlook the bad in life,
Contradict, and roll the dice.
Mirrors show you what they see,
A broken girl who's come to me.

Tear-stained cheeks, a stuffy nose,
Her eyes glisten, but no more hope.
I feel her dying, in my heart.
I don't want us to be apart.

The truth, my dear,
That you must see,
is: I am you,
And you are me.
