Friends that never met

After many a day of feeling alone
and friendships a thing of the past
my laughter came back when a twist of fate
had me click on the special name Kate

there's so many here, maybe thousands or more
whos heart songs come out of the pen
how lucky i am to finally find one
that could help this lonely heart mend

its amazing to talk, so easy and free
about our lives, our past and our dreams
her voice i hear in every line that i read
on my face a smile now beams

i wrote her this verse so that she will know
what her kindness has meant to me
i feel were old friends that never have met
a friend saved me from over the sea
