Memory

by Heather   Feb 13, 2008

Darkness overcomes the world
I sit there reminiscing over the dull and sickly light
Wanting to leave this nightmare far behind
Never wanting to, but giving up the dark and hopeless fight.

I look around and the darkness is still there
But shadows drift in the darkest spots
I look closely and I swear they're memories of the past
Memories come to haunt me at long last.

The shadows close in, constricting my thoughts
The last thing that I remember is my last and final scream.
Then I wake up, sweat pouring, pouring, pouring
My head clears and I remember, it was just a dream.
