Angel in the Dark

by Heather   Sep 26, 2008

I walked that long and hard road of solitude
No one there to guide my heart
No one to take my hand
Everything just falling apart

The days grew dark
The nights were the blackest of black
My heart grew troubled
Everything happy I seemed to lack.

Then I saw a light
Deep in the black of night
And there my angel stood
The feeling never felt so good

I approached him ever so cautiously
Afraid he might just be an allusion
Then his hand swept my tears away
And wiped away all my confusion

My skies grew bright again
My nights a soft black
The stars shown brightly
Now love I don’t lack.
