I'm not breaking

by Janniieee   Feb 13, 2008

Don't be kind to me, kick me as I'm down.
don't set me free, here i am face down.
this doesn't hurt, she said. she said.
there's nothing left; eyes can't be red.
there's nothing left to break
broken down to a million little pieces.
the dust explodes and blows away
and nothing else remains.
i can still see you bright eyes
they saw me for exactly what i am,
they used to be the only ones
that understand.
but now i know that they don't exist,
and they're not nearly as bright,
they slip one day
and stick like sand
and all is washed away.
your eyes will never understand again
but i still stand.
i know that there's no going back
so I've stopped the waiting.
i know you're never coming back,
but i
am
not
breaking.
