The Chronicles of My Broken Life: Paper Heart

by Forever Broken   Feb 16, 2008

This paper heart of mine
is starting to turn red
as the blood begins to spread,
and then you walk by me
and rip it to shreds.
Life seeping out of it
As death gets into it
the black ink begins
to swallow you as it
starts to become dark.
You are starting to hurt
and the tears fall just
like cold raindrops
right onto your paper heart.
You look around at the things
that are destroying your
small, weak paper heart
As you realize that it's torn apart,
You try to fix your paper heart.
the band-aids, the tape,
the inescapable fate.
Your paper heart's cut in half
and it's too late...
