Forsaken, Not Forgotten

Oh my God,
Why have you forsaken me?
Left me to drown
In this sea of uncertainty.

Taken my only support
To better my reliance
On You?
Or to show me
That You are the One
In control?

If that, then why
Do I not hear Your voice
Reassuring me that
Everything will be all right?

Why then do the waves
Grow, ever higher
And the thunder continue to shout?
Why does this storm continue to rage
When You could calm it
With one whisper from Your lips?

Calm my heart,
Oh, my Lord
That I might listen
And hear Your words
Of healing
For my wounded soul.

Protect me, my Love,
From the darts of the Evil One.

Allow me into You presence
Once more.
I pray:
Help me, Lord Jesus.
I need You
More than anything.
