Story of a Girl

by Jessie   Feb 19, 2008

Take a look at a year ago
Tell me what you see
Do you see a happy girl
One who's fearless and carefree?

Please look harder
I know I do
I see her smile
One pure and true

Her eyes shone bright
While she laughed all day
She was going to go far
In the life that she played

But then one hot july night
She met him
He took her somewhere
She had never been

His eyes drew her close
as curiosity killed the cat
She fell for him
It was simple as that

Then there it was
Her change in life
Sitting right there
Sharp as a knife

He offered

She loved him so much
That she took a sip
It hit her hard
Burnt her lips

She swallowed fast
With everything on fire
But that was that
She had a desire

More she drank
Untill she couldn't stand
Down she went
And he took her hand

Thats all it took
As she tingled all over
He was all she needed
Her four leaf clover

More drunken nights followed
As summer came to a close
Then he left her
And she felt so exposed

With the one she loved gone
And her new depression
It was time to move on
To her next obsession

She met some friends
That weren't the best
They offered her a toke
And she failed the test

So she started a habit
Of getting high after school
It made her feel big
Important and cool

But the weed wouldn't drown
Away her pain
She missed him too much
Had nothing to gain

Then there came fighting
With her family and friends
Her family lost hope
and friendships came to an end

So she sat there alone
Too upset to eat
She lost so much weight
in pain and so weak

She wanted him back
Had him to thank
No intention to live like this
So deeper she sank

With a stain on her heart
And tears in her eyes
She picked up the razor
And began to cry

As the blade kissed her heel
And the blood flowed down
She cringed in relief
Not making a sound

She was all alone
In the life she ran
Where was he now
To hold her hand

She had no idea
What had happened to them
She liked him so much
But then

She must have done something
To piss him off big
Because he hated her
Was all she could think

With no one around
To make her feel right
She took the blade
And pressed it tight

One say she woke up
And said "this is it!
There's nothing to live for
I'm a piece of shit!"

With a goodbye letter written
and the blade sharpened well
She was ready to do it
Untill she heard the doorbell

"Fuk it!" she thought
"Five more minutes won't matter"
So she opened the door
And felt herself shatter

It was him

"What do you want?"
She was filled with doubt
"I was just wondering
if you wanted to hang out?"

She couldn't believe
What was just said to her
But she looked at his eyes
And simply said "sure"

Two years later she sits
Alone on her bed
Thinking about everything
Glad shes not dead

She quit with the weed
And put back on her smile
Learned how to eat again
Laughed like a child

She threw out her razor
And her cuts turned to scars
Finally she felt free
Not locked in by bars

Last but not least
She talked to him
And poured out all
She had bleeding within

She found out the truth
Which put her at ease
He thought she hated him
So he let her be

He felt the same way
Missed her so much
Missed her smile
Missed her touch

But he thought she was mad
So he decided to let go
But there was to much pain
In being alone

A stupid mistake
Which could have been mended
had she not been a snob
And been so offended

So now she sits
Looking through pictures of them
They are so much in love
Together again
