The hidden feelings

by Selina   Feb 19, 2008

She hid it well,
She smiled and laughed,
Did everything so no one could tell
What was hiding behind the mask...

She was the one they always turned too,
She was the one who would listen,
She was the one who cared about you,
Even when you weren't even friends.

She was the quiet one,
Until you got to know her,
She always wanted to have fun,
No one saw just how much she truly suffered.

Both physically and emotionally,
To everyone else she was great,
But through her eyes it was a different story,
Looking at her reflection she felt nothing but hate.

She hid all her secrets as best as she could,
She did it well cause no one noticed something was wrong.
Even with her loving friends she never understood
Why she wasn't happy and still the tears poured all night long.

They were always there for her when her emotions betrayed her,
Always tried convincing her that everything would be OK,
But still everyday she saw the final day arriving faster and faster,
She sat at night, tears in her eyes, just waiting for that day.

She tried never to speak about her problems,
Cause she didn't even understand them herself.
When people asked she didn't know what to tell them,
So she smiled and would say phase past and hid how she truly felt.

Just an average girl,
Family, boyfriend, friends, some would consider her life perfect
But even with everything she felt alone in the world,
Emotions that were impossible to notice or detect.

She went along with life making sure her surroundings were happy,
She hated seeing people depressed or just plainly sad
She wanted them happy the way she appeared to be,
When they weren't, she'd feel responsible and bad.

She started letting go of people close to her one by one,
Started isolating herself and made up excuses not to go out.
It was killing her inside but she knew it was better for them to have her gone
It would make it easier on them once the day came about.

She wanted everyone's life to go on just the same,
She was glad to help and maybe even save others,
She really wanted her family and friends to know they weren't to blame,
And that she knew that no one could ever save her...
