He speaks at night

by Kristin   Feb 21, 2008

Faucets drip and flowers wilt
Smiles fade and laughs quiet down
In regards to that night I silence myself
Not to say a word
Not to make a noise
Only to listen for a whisper from a ghost

A long lost relative
Signals and signs tell me he's around
Watching every step I take
Their to catch me if I fall

Late at night I don't say a word
Just sit in silence
Waiting to see if he's their
And when he is
We whisper low
He tells me of the things he sees

He tells me of the people he's worried for and asks
Me too reach out to them
And just for him I do

I reach out to those in need
A drunken aunt
A scared grandmother
An uncle diagnosed with cancer
A worn out cousin

A family In need
