For you only

by Arunansu   Feb 21, 2008

For you only,
a world may shrink
within my room,
nights may weave a carpet
with fibres of bemusement.

Last time we met,
it was this time of the day,

the air conditioner was out of order,
as your perspiring beauty
handed me back
an album of photographs.

Sometimes, I put off my ac
around this time.

My afternoons lurk
around blackened corners
of doors and windows,
along with the panels of sunshine
peeping in through curtains,

mellowed sunshine play
with gloom.
Then withdraw.

I wander about
the stellar constellations
in search
of your glitter.
