Couldn't See You

by Josh Barrett   Feb 21, 2008

We met on this very internet.
We talked all night.
Its hard to see each other smile.
And we have never been able to start a fight.

I know thats a good thing.
And I get to see your picture.
I know you love me.
And I love you for sure.

We have promised to meet each other.
Face to face, hand in hand.
We are going to travel,
to each others lands.

Marriage is an option.
Now that we have reached the age of 18.
We can run away and start what we have begun.
Start where we have been.

I am about to see your face now.
On the way to your state.
I hope you will be there.
Because I might be a little late.

And then, something happened.
Our car crashed into another.
And what I saw next,
I will remember forever.

After getting out of the damaged car,
I walked over to the VMW,
and lying there in the rubble,
was my one and only love, you.

I knew I couldn't see you,
couldn't be with you or any other.
But I was coming to be with you,
and stay with you until the end of time.

I guess things happen for a reason.
People pass and you make decisions.
God only chooses things for the right reasons.
Like the fact that I couldn't see you, but he let me know you.
