Come Home

by Josh Barrett   Mar 2, 2008

The Soldiers have been gone for so long,
fighting for this country,
because the president wont let them go,
I guess he cannot see.

The families weep over losses,
cry over loved ones gone,
wish they could have said goodbye,
one more time.

I honor every last one of them,
for doing what they do,
but wish they would come home,
the president to give the cue.

But not yet,
because we have to "help" the country that destroys ours,
while every last one of the soldiers,
possibly have a few hours.

If I go to Iraq,
I will always keep in touch on the phone,
letting everyone know Im not helping the foreigners,
but trying to get our soldiers to come home.
