In your eyes

by StandStill   Feb 22, 2008

A knock at my door
pull myself up off the floor
creaking open
like my heart, it's heavy, and im hoping

and there you are
sunshine in your eyes
in them is reflected my surprise

you're here
where is she?
and what in the world
could this mean?
i love you so much
it makes my heart well
my tears swell
and i hear a bell

and there you are
sunshine in your eyes
in them is reflected my surprise

and the ruse of my rouge
hides my blush
when i feel my face flush
i push my eyes to the floor
and i continue you to pull open the door
happy without
a single doubt

and there you are
sunshine in your eyes
in them is reflected my surprise

you say you want to stay
and i can only say
that's just fine with me
but i know what you really mean
because im not what you see

and there you are
sunshine in your eyes
in them is reflected my surprise

we sit and talk
we go for a short, then long walk
the twilight comes
and then we part, back to our homes

and there you go
sunshine in your eyes
in them is reflected my surprise

at night i dream in safety
of you
and all the things i can't do
in my dreams, you are my baby

and i wish
i could be the sunshine in your eyes
and in them would be reflected surprise
