How Well Do You Know

by alone in the crowd   Feb 22, 2008

Stop
I told you to stop
I don't want you to read this
Not like every other poem
This one is different
This isn't an exaggeration of my life
This is real
This is me
How well do you know me?
My favorite color is turquoise
I love coffee but only with chocolate
I still sleep with a stuffed animal
Did you know?
My eyes change colors in the light
Form blue to green to grey
I sport fedoras and antique jewelry
I sing into hairbrushes and stomp on the floor
How well do you know me?
I text without looking
I have three different laughs
And if I'm really happy my eyes sparkle
I feel more alive playing someone I'm not
I listen to Celine Dion and Metallica
The rain warms me
I love its touch on my skin
I hate heights but dream of flying
I am intelligent but lack street smarts
Do you care?
I love the feeling of butterflies in my stomach
I wiggle my feet when I'm excited
I trust too easily and love too soon
I always get goosebumps and enjoy the cold
But spring is my favorite season
I love dresses and tulips
I sing opera in my kitchen
I attempt to play guitar
Do you know me?
I know three languages and six alphabets
I love British accents and waterfalls
I like puzzles and games
Always up for a challenge
I like silent walks and scary movies
Do you want to know?
Do you know?
Do you care?
Stop
Meet me
Stop
