Effects of war part 2

by Beth   Feb 22, 2008

Shaken and tired they stand
with guns grasped tightly in their hands.
Out in the fierce front line
for ending this war there is no sign.
Hidden under layers of camouflage
this whole war seems like a blurry mirage.
Never knowing what happens next
loved ones bodies laid to rest.
Desert heat,there is no shade
bullets pierce like razer blades.
Missing their friends and family at home
in this crowded tent they never felt so alone.
Doing the best that they can
joined together woman and man.
Physically and emotionally scarred
now home life doesn't seem so hard.
Believing in what they are fighting for is right
hoping they will see one more night.
Many soldiers frightened and scared
but the promise of returning home hung in the air.
Hoping it will end just as fast as it began
we can only do so much we are only man.
