The End Is Near

by Marius Laun   Feb 23, 2008

Despite all that I say
Death is close at hand.
I've seen the good and bad,
and traveled many lands

I can't hold on much longer
My strength is waning fast.
as I write these words,
I know they'll be my last

I made my last request
and made all my good bye's,
I have nothing left to do
except to wait and die.

Life has grown quite dreary
and darkness closes round,
Death's hand has come to fetch me
and take me to the ground.

So now I'll take my leave
a last farewell I'll send
The only thing I've ever known
Is this shall be The End

Hey this is very sad. i don't really like poems about death but anyways i respect your emotions so i probably won't write about the meaning;)

what i loved here was wording in some places, and also the rhythm was good. i would even say it was too dynamic for such a sad poem but maybe u used it to emphasize your pain which goes through the poem. it works.

    i put 4/5
