The Other Me

by Marius Laun   Feb 23, 2008

Thou shalt not defy me
I've another me inside
who suffers day and night
No warmth or love in heart,
and naught but a single thought of happiness
to push away the dark.

He is sleeping restlessly
In they dark abyss of my soul,
Ever waiting to spring to life
to ruin those who awaken and defy,
So he can return to restless sleep
And slowly slip away to die.

But the way he is,
Is due to lost love.
His heart was broken
and torn away from him.
The anguish he felt grew and grew,
until the day he broke

He turned to restless sleep,
as a temporary escape,
till death would come
and set him free,
From his pain
and misery.

His dreams have turned to nightmares
By the thoughts of pain
So he's given up his hope
And left the world he loved
There's nothing for him anymore
So now he waits for death's embrace.

Your rhyming scheme was funky but I felt it was pretty good. I enjoyed the word use. Not your best but it certinly interested me. The title is good too.
