The Sea

by Amber Smith   Feb 25, 2008

THE SEA, THE SEA
THE MIST OF GENTLE WAVES,
SHELLS AND PEDDLES ROLL IN,
SHOULD SINK BENEATH THE WAVES,
THUNDER'S SHOOK THE MIGHTY DEEP,
A BURST THE CANNON'S ROAR,
THE METOAR OF THE OCEANS AIR,
SHALL SWEEP THE CLOUD NO MORE,

A MOTHER CRIES, A DAUGHTER MOURNS,
AND THERE SHOULD BE HIS GRAVE,
NAIL TO THE MAST HIS HOLY FLAG,
SET EVERY TREADBARE SAIL,
AND GAVE HER TO GOD,
