Dying Alone

by Deedee Hockley   Feb 26, 2008

I have decided to submit this too, I'm not sure why and i will most likely remove it soon, for it is deeply personal to me. I suppose I'm going to include this in my collection as is, in the hope that some one will find some inspiration in it to keep trying, and not be pushed away as the last light of dawn Finlay shines on some one you care deeply about.
Ive also changed NOTHING in it, no spelling errors or punctuation, but presented this as it was written, If it was good enough for the lady it was written for, it should be good enough for you.

A poem to some one I love, may you rest with angles my love

I feel you in the night.... searching for the dawn
Looking for the light
Your mind is a cauldron
Boiling in turmoil and wishing it would end.... hoping it will go on
Your hopes, you dreams, lay shattered at your feet
The glass that slipped through your fingers
The lost child, cold and alone.... desperately wanting to reach out
Scared of what you will find
Pride, Dignity, Independence.... we cannot let go
We grip these with both arms, wishing for a third to reach out
As the ladybird clings to the single daisy in a plain of grass
when the storms come
You love, you fear to love

But in the darkness of night
When the cold wind blows
Some one search
A light only in the minds eye
Something you don't see
Just the flutter of wings from the corner of the eye
But it grows
You hide deeper
You push
But the light grows
Other lights dim, shunned and fade....
But one grows
The fear is pushed at it
The winds rip at it
But it grows
Finally, in your hollow, your cocoon
The light is there
You hold with your arms all that are dear, you cant spare to reach out
But the light bringer will hold you
Let you hold tight to what is dear
Will help you keep them safe and close
And will hold you too

When others fear the night
What they think they know is to come
When just a little push sends them spinning
Some stand fast
They will hold your hand
They wont run
What is a push to a friend
It is the fear that they wont face
It is standing and bearing the storm
Knowing it could be them
The bully, the killer.... they are not unknown.... they give terror to all
But we stand
We fight where we must
We pray
We hope
We don't let go
We don't turn our backs and walk away
We see
We feel
Yes we hurt
BUT WE LEARN
And the love blows the hurt clean away
We grive.... but we can only do that as we know we have loved
Life is a two way street
We cannot give with out receiving
We cannot learn with out teaching
As we touch people. So they touch us
When we hug, we are hugged
And if my friend cries, I cry with her
While I can, I will help, I will feel, I will see
When my friend cannot help, see or feel.... I WILL FOR HER
When she cannot love, I will love for her
And when my time is due
I prey I will have the same
I pray to god , that I will be wanted
That I will see friends, and feel loved, and warm, and wanted
And that I helped some one
As you help me
That our life is a journey
And along my path I have scattered diamonds and pearls
These I will leave for those who follow.... To cherish
For to cherish is the root of friendship and love
For in the dawn of the coming of the following day
As second adds to second
As minute adds to minute and hour onto hour
I know I have some one I can call on..
Day by day
Nothing is for ever.... but we make all that we can of what we have
Sarita, please, please, dont push me away
Don't leave me in the cold of the night
Don't leave you in the wilderness
Don't let me think there is a friend who cares, cares enough to leave me in the dark
As that is not a true friend
............

I wish you all I could give, all that I have to give, as a friend
And I grow strong, like the tree that needs the breeze.... without the breeze.. the tree will grow tall, but wont know the storm.. and so will break
