Lies

We tell lies
weve all done it
but i can say
i told the biggest one
i said my dad molested me
so i could get out of trouble
my life would be different now
if i had told the truth
about who really did
then my family
wouldnt be this way
we would be like we used to be
before i told this lie
that pushed us apart
and made my family
want to roll over and die
i apologized a million times
but it wont help
because it wont take away the hurt
and pain that was left
when i told the lie
and my family cry
