Who can understand?

There once was this beautiful girl,
She was twelve and in love,
She was a great student,
And believed in our God above
Everyone thought her life was perfect,
But when she`d go home her life was Hell,
Her mom was a drunk, and her brother was a thief,
What her daddy did she would never tell
He was an abusive drunk,
That raped her at age nine,
And ever since then,
She has never been fine.
She never told anyone,
Just lived her life,
But when she got home,
She`d grab a knife.
She`d slit her wrist,
And let it bleed,
She thought to herself,
"This is all I'll ever need!"
The next day she cut again,
And cut too deep,
Her vision blurred,
And she started to sleep.
When she awoke,
She was in the same place,
No one helped her,
Or even saw her face.
She wondered what happened,
And looked at her arm,
Looked at the strawberry gash,
And all of the harm
She went to school,
The very next day
And acted as if,
Everything was okay.
But nothing was okay,
Nothing was right,
Her arm began to throb,
So she grabbed it real tight.
Her cuts were increasing,
There were more and more,
And tonight she'd go and cut again,
To make number 44
