Spider Hugs

by Mr. Darcy   Mar 2, 2008

Early in the morning,
Dew is in the air.
Look into the bushes
To see what's there.

If you're looking
Really carefully,
I'm sure you'll see,
Silky wet threads,
What can it be?

Chorus
Pretty, pretty, pretty,
Pretty spider's web.
Silky spun home,
Which keeps him fed.

Pretty, pretty, pretty,
Lonely spider bug.
He's at home all alone,
No one to hug.
Home all alone,
No one to hug.

Upon his hairy bottom,
There are many spinnerets.
He squeezes tiny tubes
To produce a sticky web.

He creates a special outline,
Spiraling out to make it tough,
Then back into the center
Where he waits for yummy stuff.

Chorus
Pretty, pretty, pretty,
Pretty spider's web.
Silky spun home,
Which keeps him fed.

Pretty, pretty, pretty,
Lonely spider bug.
He's at home all alone,
No one to hug.
Home all alone,
No one to hug.

He's spun a clever home
Using different threads.
One, very, very sticky,
And one to tread.

This pretty, sticky web
Catches many flies.
It's a sticky tacky trap,
With eight legs and eyes

Chorus
Pretty, pretty, pretty,
Pretty spider's web.
Silky spun home,
Which keeps him fed.

Pretty, pretty, pretty,
Lonely spider bug.
He's at home all alone,
No one to hug.
Home all alone,
No one to hug.

His hairy tummy's happy
Now it's full of flies and moths.
But, still he is so lonely,
At night he cries and sobs.

From the center of his home
He thinks hard about his life.
And how he'd love to share it
With a pretty spider wife.

Chorus
Pretty, pretty, pretty,
Pretty spider's wish
To meet a lady spider
To love and kiss..

Pretty, pretty, pretty,
Lonely spider bug.
He's at home all alone,
No one to hug.
Home all alone,
No one to hug.

One day he feels vibration
Through his foot upon his web.
His tummy rather hungry,
It's needing to be fed.

As he walks to his next meal
He's surprised at what he sees,
A lovely lady spider saying
will you marry me?'

Chorus
Yes, yes, yes
But don't leave me.
And promise that you'll
Never ever eat me!!

I'm a lady Spider
Who wouldn't do that?
It's clear you and I
Are a perfect match.
You and I,
A perfect match.

After the pretty wedding,
There are many spider eggs.
Soon to be a family
In a tiny spiders web.

Before the eggs have hatched,
They spin themselves a larger web
Which is really just as well,
With a hundred baby legs.

Chorus

Pretty Mrs Spider
In their arachnid home.
Mr Spider's happy,
Not now alone

Pretty, pretty, pretty,
Baby laughter.
This family Lived
Happily
Ever after .
Happily ever after.

This is sooo adorable. you could look at it through a child's eyes and see the simplicity. or, if you are desperate for meaning (like me!) you can find metaphors, etc, in this song. this is wonderous. i want to hug a spider...and i am afraid of spiders!!!! keep it up!
