Late Night Wish

by Kitten   Mar 5, 2008

Late at night, I wish on the stars in the sky.
I wish to grow wings and to fly.
Fly away from reality.
So I can find the real me.
Oh, why does reality hunt me with woe?

Late at night, I wish on the stars in the sky.
I wish for a prince to come take me away.
Away to a kingdom unknown.
Where there is no pain or longing.
But will my prince come for me?

Late at night, I wish on the stars in the sky.
I wish to laugh and never cry in sadness.
To laugh without worries and only cry of joy.
Oh, what joy that would bring!
And to never again shed a tear of pain.
Can such dreams come true?

Late at night I wish on the stars.
I wish upon Venus and Mars.
And then I slowly open my eyes,
to find true happiness in the life I have.

I really liked this poem and right at the moment I really do connect with it a lot. There are some things I'd change though. The first line in each stanza the words are good but the arrangement was a bit weak so I'd work on that. Otherwise I thought you did a pretty good job!
