Trident Tropical Splash (This isnt really a poem)

by Jaklynn   Mar 5, 2008

I chew this gum and the flavor hits me
Trident Tropical Splash, and I remember
That night that you came up to school
When you had a pack of this very gum
In the pocket of your jeans
When you said you were coming up
And I skipped class to hang out with you
20 minutes later you were here
So I went out to meet you
And you came up to my room
We watched the Cowboys game
And cuddled close on my bed
And we were chewing this very gum
You were really obsessive about it
I guess you wanted to have fresh breath
All of the million times you kissed me
I had a piece or two that whole night
You had like 7 of them and it amused me
But every time you kissed me I tasted
Trident Tropical Splash and I remember
Fighting with you about my rule
That was not supposed to apply to you
Because you were above the rules
And it ended up not applying in the end
Then you left me that night alone
To go smoke your blunt with Mike
With a hug and an Ill text you this weekend
Now I cant remember if you did or not
But you left your pack of this very gum
Trident Tropical Splash, and I remember
It was on my radiator and I picked it up
And laughed as I brought it to my face
And I found exactly what I wanted to
The smell of your cologne on the pack
From being in the pocket of your jeans
I sat it down and put it in my purse
Messaged you and told you it was here
And you laughed at me
Then that weekend Jess ate it all
But I still have the empty pack in my purse
A few months ago it was trash
Now it is one of my memories of you
Youre gone away and I miss you dearly
But now I can get transported back in time
Trident Tropical Splash, and I remember.

**Rest in Peace Sal, I miss you dearly...**
