In a graveyard

by StandStill   Mar 5, 2008

In a graveyard of lovers
an angel cries
all the death and broken hearts
are images before her eyes

the ghosts they walk
past the one
who guards them
they forsake her, shun

and the angel weeps
of useless life
and how seemingly pointless
so filled with strife

and through the grey clouds
the angel does watch
the flung hearts
that lovers do not catch

and she comforts the wandering souls
and tries to give them love
the sad smile
shining at them from above

but the angel died
long ago
when her own love
she did forgo

so learn a lesson
here today
from true love
never walk away
