Stalker

by StandStill   Mar 9, 2008

On a moonlit night
when the planets all align
a girl walks down her lane
knowing she's not fine

the air is far too cold
for a night in mid-April
and with the chilly breeze
her memories do fill

and down the dark street
lays a stranger
friend or foe?
help or danger?

the girl walks up
into the shadows
then tries to run away
realizing danger follows

the stranger runs
following her
she feels it now
this danger

heart beats fast
feet beat faster
but of hunting
the stalker is a master

he corners her in inky black shadows
and wraps her in his death
he robs her of her life
the greatest of his theft

once dead the girl is disposed of
no longer is she of need
the hunt is over
but the killer has yet to fulfill his greed
