13 Floors, One Way Down

by Rich   May 21, 2004

I can’t abide by these rules you give
The world shut me out for far too long
Long ago I ceased to live
I just can’t carry on...

Step to the ledge
Feel the summer breeze
I watch the setting of the sun
My mind begins to freeze

Now there is time
To stop and stare
I admire the view ahead
Living without a care

I feel the pain
In my fingers grow
I’m losing my grip on the ledge
I’ve got to just let go

I feel the wind rush
On my face so warm
Close my eyes and feel the peace
No more will I be torn

I can’t abide by these rules you give
The world shut me out for far too long
Long ago I ceased to live
I just can’t carry on…
