Ballad of a Bleeding Heart - Beyond the Parade

by Rich   May 21, 2004

A myriad of thoughts
Fusing night into day,
The ticking time distorts
And 'reality' falls away.
Sitting alone in my little box,
With my emotional chains
And mental locks.
Counting the ticks
And forgetting the tocks.
A search for enlightenment,
Finding new versions of death.
Seeing your misalignment,
And so I take a deep breath...

Inhaling, I drift
Back into the dark.
Bridging the rift;
A reminder so stark.
Realisation of the cold,
The cold held in the sun;
Embracing a truth so bold,
The bold attributes of one.
There's calm in the storm,
As I move beyond time.
My closed eyes are warm,
As my spirit starts to climb.

I excel as I exhale,
My bleeding heart still beats.
My pulse is telltale,
As the heartbeat repeats.
