Just an Apology.

by Brittany   Mar 11, 2008

I'm sorry for a lot of things,
Things I can't take back.

I look at us back then,
So naive in thinking we could have forever,
So bright and believing,
In love and trusting,
Never once looking past the stars,
Into a darker beyond.

I'm sorry for the bumps we hit,
But that was just the road.

We rarely ever fought,
When we did it was over quick,
Our cares sunk,
Deeper and deeper,
I laugh at how mature we thought we were,
And how young our minds never thought,
That one day those cares would wash up,
And leave us blind sided.

I'm sorry for every rock we've hit,
If only you could understand.

You only look at yourself,
Even now when you're dragging everyone else down,
It's only you,
And I'm sorry that I'm mad,
I'm not sympathetic,
I'm sorry that I'm still not who you thought I was,
I'm sorry I'll never come running,
I'm sorry that I'm still not sorry.
