Do You Remember?

by Madison   Mar 12, 2008

Before you say yes, or before you say no,
There are a few things that I think you should know.
I never wanted you to leave,
And I never wanted you to go.
I hope that you do see how I still love you so.
When you walked out of my world,
I thought it had come to an end
Even though you said we could still be best friends.
I tried to ignore it and tell myself it wasn't true.
I simply couldn't face the fact
That I was no longer with you.
Is it to late to remind you how we were?
Most of what I remember makes me sure
That we were meant and supposed to be.
Together was you and me.
I don't know about you, but I still recall
Those days when you were always there
To catch me when I'd fall.
You told me you loved me, and I said it back.
It was completely honest.
It wasn't an act.
Remember when your eyes used to gaze upon my own?
What about all those times
We exchanged sweet words over the phone?
Remember all those hallway waves, walks, and talks?
I know I do.
I wish they had never stopped.
Remember the little notes
You used to leave on my desk?
I don't see how we went from that to one big mess.
Remember all your baseball games
I attended last summer?
If I don't get this all back,
My life will truly be a bummer.
Do you remember when all of my secrets
Were also your own?
What about all the thoughts shared between us,
And all the feelings shown?
Do you remember when all you could think about was me?
You're still all I think about.
Are you beginning to see?
