I whispered "I love you," ...

by Mr Rhee   Mar 13, 2008

I kissed you goodbye this morning,
as you slept away your last dream.
Your hair smelled so good,
the skin on you cheek so soft.

I whispered "I love you," in your ear,
hoping you would remember it later.
You sighed a soft sigh
and made my heart skip a beat.

I would think of you during the day,
while you were out on your errands or fun.
You make me lose focus on the job,
wishing I could come home to you.

I look at my dirty, rough, hands,
feeling yours hold them like before.
You always touched me like that,
and never let me go out of reach.

I close my eyes and hear your voice,
feeling my skin start to tingle again.
You could always draw me closer this way,
so your whispers found their way to my heart.

I swear I could love you forever,
wishing this would never end for us.
You gave me so much of yourself,
until there was just no more to give.

I wish it had never ended the way it did,
with you hating me like you do now.
You reminded me of my broken promise,
and the way I've lost that part of you.

Hmm...this one isnt like your other ones i don't think. in the other poems ive read you are already alone and lonely. missing you one you love/loved. in this poem, however, you are missing the person and the couple that you used to be. once again an amazing piece! 5/5
