Mon Chien

by Katran   Mar 13, 2008

My last remnant of a life once known
A life...was that what it was?
Nerve endings and chemistry together thrown...
Muscles spasms for some cause

My last attempt at a life grasped for
A botched portrait of perfection
A stretch for something more
The river flowed in the wrong direction

The water has always been stagnant
The water has always been cold
Putrid liquid feigning purity
Stale. Rank. Old.

I say goodbye to the dream
Au revoir parapluie
Salut Ma mere...mon pere...mes freres...
Bonnuit Mon Chien.

I thought this was an okay piece. I really liked the line 'The river flowed in the wrong direction', but I don't know why, maybe it was its rhyming couplet that did it. I think my favorite stanza was the third one, it flowed well and the words were used well.
