Rage

by Simply Josh   Mar 14, 2008

The screams of the night awoke me
As well as the laughter of the perpetrator
Who left a shattered window, broken glass
And a bloodied face of tears

The anger weld up inside
I just had to release
"Chase, kill," the voice said
So I ran out, knife in hand

My speed felt like no other
My senses blocked by sheer rage
My eyes set on revenge
My actions no longer my doing

No longer was I myself
I had a license to kill
As my mother lay in pain
I'll listen to the suspect's last breath

As quickly as my mother had screamed
As quickly had the suspect felt my wrath
I left with a shattered blade, knife handle in hand
And a mutilated face not capable of crying
