Heya Grandpa

by Jessie   Mar 15, 2008

"Hey ya Grandpa! Long time no see,
I missed you, did you miss me?
Looky here, I got a tattoo.
I made sure it reminds me of you.

Remember the day when I turned six?
and asked you what you'd bought me?
You couldn't afford a single thing,
So instead you created Happy.

Happy the Skunk lived on a canvas,
because art was what we shared.
It showed me that you loved me dear,
and that you really cared.

From that day forward, he hung on my wall,
So I could remember you always.
Sweet thoughts of you would fill my mind
at the end of all my days.

You are the best, remember that,
I love you with all my heart.
That's why I decided to get Happy
tattooed to a body part.

Here he sits with his skunkly smile
to watch over me all the time,
and to remind me of all the laughs
we shared throughout our lives."

That was all she had to say
as a tear streamed down her face
she slowly turned and walked away,
from her grandfathers urn.
