Farms & Industries

by Aaron Deevers   Mar 19, 2008

A sea of never ending wheat
A golden row of corn
A brownish flow of soybeans
A fluffy white of cotton

These all help us live
These all make lives well
These all are made by farmers
These are the families we need

Companies come and go
Buying land at will
Moving out the land we need
Moving in factories we do not

Lands that grew food for us
Are going away to waste
Highways and freeways
Factories and industries

Before we know it
Farmers of now
Will be farmers of yesterday
Save the land of growth
Keep the little man alive

    Aaron,
You touch on such a deep subject for me. My family on my mom's side and my boyfriends family are all farmers. I have recently learned some of the life that farmers withstand. It is such a sad scene that industry takes from the little man only to feed the mouths of the rich. The farmer fed everyone and he is proud of his production. Wonderful write.

You have brought to light a very sad thing that has been increasing over the years.

    Before we know it
    Farmers of now
    Will be farmers of yesterday
    Save the land of growth
    Keep the little man alive

    The dying breed....the farmers.
    Very sad :(
    Take care Cindy
