Juxtapose

by sibyllene   Mar 22, 2008

My first lover
was sun sky colored, clear blue eyes, golden skin brown lashes
sharp and sad.
Slowly, in jagged steps, haltingly, I became his (almost) completely.
He left me
slowly, in jagged steps (each of which bled, scarred over, toughened) haltingly, completely.

He knew me at my most pretty -
soft, virginal, new, conflicted,
clouds passing over sun like lashes flickering.

My second lover
is brown forest colored, crisp grey green eyes, golden skin long black lashes
rough and sweet.
Quickly, in skips and leaps, I become his, I become solidly (in)complete.
He holds me
tightly, in strong arms (every time I nearly break, keeping me together) completely

He knows me at my most lovely -
still young, rounding at the edges
parts of me defined, parts wafting off like vision in a haze

brazen, used, sated, conflicted,
clouds pass over my heart, he walks with me in rain.

Sibs - this was amazing. Its been entirely too long since I've read any poetry and this was enough to awaken something in me to get back to writing (and reading)...

You definitely have a way with words my dear. :)
