Broken smile

by sweet escape   Mar 23, 2008

The man in the moon smiling brightly at me,
as I watch him rise and set over the sea.

Smile back, I can not,
for my life is not what I thought.

I see many smiles throughout the day,
but the one that matters, long ago, went away.

No longer able to feel joy since he broke my heart,
took my smile and ripped it apart.

Gave him all the love I had to give,
he made me wish I could no longer live.

Never once did he return my love.
Like an angel from above,

I watch every night as I weep over him,
and as he sleeps easy in the dim.

I liked it but it was a bit I'm not sure bouncy for my taste.

I didn't feel anything I think was my problem.

Maybe put in some more emotional words would bring this poem to new meanings.
