My heart's lost in Paradise (Triquatrain)

by Anonymous Angel   Mar 24, 2008

My heart's lost in Paradise (Triquatrain)

Everytime we meet, my heart skips a beat,
as we look each other in the eye
My mind wanders off, is this love
suddenly I'm shy.

Trying to think straight, I tell myself to wait
What if it is just a one-sided crush
With that thought, my heart fought
against a rising blush.

For the look we shared, I was unprepared
My heart had a battle with my head
Should I make a move, or will he disapprove
I did the one thing I could...I fled

For now my mind has won, and my heart moved on
Everything has its price,
now I'm all alone, and on my own,
My heart's lost in paradise

(The Triquatrain form was created by Robert L. Huntsman. It is a quatrain poem in tri-rhyme
with a specific rhyming pattern. Lines 1 and 3 have internal rhyme whereas lines 2
and 4 do not.)

Beautifully done my dear. You truly took the title and made it your own with this wonderful piece. The flow was just great and the words you used fit everything flawlessly. I could relate to the emotion of being shy and fleeing when you dont know what to do so this poem came alive to me. Well done in creating this piece. *5/5*
