Dedication to deterioration

by Gwynne   Mar 27, 2008

Copy and pasted statements have no grounds
when they're coming from your blistered lips;
when every piece of mislaid advice you give
is a lie you've only tricked yourself into believing;
time to stop and take a look around

A false sense of security won't put off the fall
you want to go down like the twin towers
hand in hand and a smile on your face
too bad your lighting crew and stage managers just walked out
tell me how it is with every bloody detail of the fall
staring you in the face. no special effects this time to soften the blow
no where to turn, look at it. Just stare.

And with our eyes spinning like bench saws
scraping the truth right out of you
we're 3 to 1 and how can you not see
the value you're carving out of "us"

Let's see how much weight we can put on this freight car
without it bursting at the seams
it's starting to bust
the problem here for you isn't the load on the cart
the problem for you is you're standing on these makeshift tracks
looking the other way.
