Movement #5

by Gwynne   Mar 27, 2008

Last patient: female, age 18.
diagnosed 3 years ago
a disease that has no cure.
symptoms have worsened.
started in the heart,
spread to the legs, the arms.
now affecting the entire nervous system.
runs through her blood
she walks it, breaths it, lives it.
a disease that has no cure.
symptoms have worsened.

the worlds favorite metaphor;
gliding off her fingers
sliding out the ends of her toes.
the intricate equation
ricocheting off her bones.

every move you make
inspires the step she creates
every step she takes instigates
a calculated crusade
a movement of mistake.

infected with a disease that has no cure
body shakes, arteries equivocate.
she walks it, breaths it, lives it.

let's hope they never find a cure.
