Hiding in the Lies

How can people sit back,
watch the lies fly in front of their face,
ignoring them,
lying to themselves.

They always wish for fantasies to come true,
wanting a different life,
while the person next to them,
does the same exact thing.

Everyone hides the truth,
even from themselves,
dreaming up lies,
hiding behind themselves.

Pretending will never heal,
crying won't stop any pains,
happiness doesn't drown the doubt,
there is nothing to make things better.
