Nightmare Morning

by brie kelly wise   Mar 28, 2008

Let's hope for the best, no questions asked
Point to a place on the map, I'll count change
Let's pretend we have an actual chance
To make it on the road for a whole day

Where the hell are we?
We took directions
Spent a summer on the west coast
Ran naked on the east coast
Played dead down south
Never returned home up north

Am I the only one feeling different?
I was alive at first, but we've been gone too long
Under the hood, we hit the rain
Am I the only one getting wet?

Where the hell are we?
We prayed day and night
Spent a summer in the Cali rain
Took a detour all the way out of the east
Held on down south
Never found our way back home up north

I know everyone gets scared
I'll just close my eyes and fear the road ahead
Is this not the place you pointed at?
I can't help but hold on
No matter how much we try to live away from home
It just won't seem right to me

I LOVED this. It was different from other breakup poems, it wasn't so "woah is me" . Great work, keep it up =]
