There You Were

by Dacey Flame   Mar 29, 2008

There you were and greatness bound.
And you held close to you the sunshine.
And they snapped a photo of you smiling.

There you were and you looked around
And you couldn't see the sunshine.
And they snapped a photo of you sighing.

There you were and you watched the ground
And you weren't looking for the sunshine.
And they snapped a photo of you lost.

There you were and you heard a sound
And you had given up on the sunshine.
And they snapped a photo of you beaten.

There you were and you're beautifully gowned
And you'll never see the sunshine again.
And they snapped a photo of your burial.
