Smile, the world is watching

by girlnextdoor   Mar 30, 2008

I know these faces all too well
the perfect, empty smiles
I sense right here, right now is hell
I've been here for a while.

You'd never know behind the smiles
are monsters, kept inside
so nice, too nice straight to your face
all the want is to rip you apart.

And me, I walk alone
and I try to pretend
that I am more then enough
that I don't need a friend,
and I'm lieing to myself.

And i keep friendly relations
with these people behind masks
because I know that they could hurt me
and it's not much further to the edge.

I wait and hope for the day
I'll find a soul behind the smile
someone who won't mind to be my friend
who'll sit and talk a while.

    Really good.

I would say I hate fake people, but hate is such a strong word, and I know I am guilty of being fake myself.

    5/5
