Inevitable

by Janine Alford   Apr 2, 2008

I can't get away from you.
Realized there is just no escape.
All we ever seem to do is argue.
Our hearts seem to form no shape.
Understand what I'm saying is true.
It's our lives that remain bruised and scraped.

We use to be best friends.
But now it's a thing in the past.
The things you do, I can't defend.
It's you that will be the outcast.
I counted down the days until we end.
I didn't think it would occur so fast.

Somethings we can't prevent.
This situation I can't avoid.
You said you knew what love meant.
But the love we had, you destroyed.
You say we just need time to vent.
But time is the only thing I need to devoid.

The invariably appearing of you,
Will seem to stay with my brain.
I think it's time I finally withdrew.
There will always be that certain pain.
Don't say you didn't have a clue.
We will never be friends again.
