Sunshine

I met her back in December of 99,
From that day on I always called her Sunshine.

Her real name was Jodi Lynn,
My hand of friendship was easy for her to win.

In my life there will never be such a great best friend,
Even in my worst times she helped my heart to mend.

She passed away 2 weeks ago at just 31,
Now my world seems full of nothing but glum.

Her life was spent working to help troubled youth,
That will be taken into account at heavens toll booth.

When the sun shines bright like it does today,
I know she is shining down from above trying to say Hey!

She left a message for me to be strong and not to cry all the time,
But I have to admit its hard cause I truly miss my Sunshine.
