Cliches and Red Roses

by Ashes of a Black Rose aka Night Child   Apr 8, 2008

Roses are red,
And this rhyme is cliche,
It's been here forever,
And won't go away.

Roses are red,
Their leaves are so green,
Their prtty brown thorns
Cut flesh quick and clean.

Roses are red,
A symbol of love,
Watch as they wilt
In the beak of a dove.

Roses are red,
Growing up from a vase,
Dying like the love
That we so blindly waste.

Roses are red,
And everyone knows,
But we just have to say it,
And it just goes to show:

Roses are red,
And this rhyme is cliche,
It's been here forever,
And won't go away.

I saw you on the message boards ^.^ I really liked your poem. Good job! I don't think I could just come up with something like that... I usually have to think about it or have some sort of inspiration for me to start writing. Oops, sorry - rambling! Good poem! 5+
