What Happened?

by Hidden1   Apr 9, 2008

What kind of generation do you live in?
Where parents aren't parents, but friends to their kids.

Where did we drop the ball? We see our kids in jail instead of seeing them outside playing ball.

When did the parents stop becoming involved,
They used to check homework, now they are more concerned about shopping at the mall.

What happened to parents demanding adolescent respect? When they go to school the teachers have a hard time teaching because their students don't give respect.

Why are our children seeing way too much? They know every cuss word, every rap song, but to complete a math problem is much too hard to solve.

What happened to our youth today? They have no love, respect, or dreams of today.
The can't love themselves and see destruction as the only way.
Now all they cling to is their will to beat the streets to survive.

Will the parents ever pick up the ball?
Will they support the teachers and become more involved?

Will they build up love instead of showing disgust and hate, or will they fall victims to the streets and let their neighborhood decide their fate.

You have a great point here. So many questions and unfortunately no answers. This poem makes you really think about how much this world has changed...
